Feel the Percussive Beat

July 27, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

  • « Strings and Other Musical Things
  • Friends of The Venice Symphony Lunch and Social »

You won’t need an instrument to Feel the Percussive Beat. Use your hands, feet, a bucket, box or things in your room, to find your groove and keep a beat. Everyone will create their own percussion instrument to take home. The program will take place at the Frances T. Bourne Jacaranda Public Library and the William H. Jervey, Jr. Venice Public Library. Registration is not required.

The Venice Symphony partners with the Sarasota County Library System to present free interactive music education programs geared toward children ages 4 to 11. Tim Ferguson, Director of Music Education at The Venice Symphony and the music teacher at Garden Elementary School in Venice, will lead the programs. Library staff will share a children’s book chosen just for the program.
