Strings and Other Musical Things

July 20, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

  • « An Instrument Family Reunion
  • Strings and Other Musical Things »

Strings and Other Musical Things will explore the basics of string instruments and feature a demonstration by members of the Venice Symphony Young Orchestra. Then everyone will get to play a ukulele. The program will take place at the Frances T. Bourne Jacaranda Public Library and the William H. Jervey, Jr. Venice Public Library. Registration is not required.

The Venice Symphony partners with the Sarasota County Library System to present free interactive music education programs geared toward children ages 4 to 11. Tim Ferguson, Director of Music Education at The Venice Symphony and the music teacher at Garden Elementary School in Venice, will lead the programs. Library staff will share a children’s book chosen just for the program.
