The Venice Symphony Names Andy Leisenring as Chair of Board of Trustees

The Venice Symphony announces that Andy Leisenring will serve as Chair of its Board of Trustees for the 2022-23 season. Leisenring has served in law enforcement for 21 years and is currently a Captain with the Venice Police Department. A Michigan native, he lives in Venice with his wife Melissa, a physical therapist, and daughters Olivia and Madison. Leisenring earned a masterโ€™s degree from Boston University, is active in the community and is a graduate of the inaugural class of the Venice Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership Venice program.

Christine Kasten, President and CEO of The Venice Symphony, said โ€œWe are honored to have Andy Leisenring lead our exceptional Board of Trustees this season and into our 50th anniversary season in 2023-2024. As a member of the Board, Andy has volunteered for several committees and consistently shown his commitment to The Symphony and to Venice. We are also very grateful to David Joyner, our outgoing Chair, who led our organization from the most challenging time in our history to last yearโ€™s sold-out season.โ€ Joyner will continue to serve on the Symphony Board and is the Chair Elect of the Venice Area Chamber of Commerce.

The 2022-23 members of The Venice Symphony Board of Trustees are Andy Leisenring (chair), Paul McCullough (vice-chair), Penny Corell (Secretary), Casey Riley (treasurer), Bob Bartholomew, Maureen Bentley, David Chivas, John Fischer, Tom Fitch, Barbara Freeman, Bob Hite, Barbara Jackson, David Joyner, Steven Ledbetter, Denise Mattmuller and Brad Speckerman.

 

Founded in 1974, The Venice Symphony is a 501(c)(3) professional orchestra deeply rooted in its community, offering concerts from November through May at the Venice Performing Arts Center, special events and long-standing music education programs for all ages throughout the year. The orchestra is led by Music Director/Conductor Troy Quinn. The Venice Symphonyโ€™s 2021-211Concert Season at the Venice Performing Arts Center is scheduled to begin on November 19, 2021.
