July 5, 2022 by sharyn

The Venice Symphony announces that Andy Leisenring will serve as Chair of its Board of Trustees for the 2022-23 season. Leisenring has served in law enforcement for 21 years and is currently a Captain with the Venice Police Department. A Michigan native, he lives in Venice with his wife Melissa, a physical therapist, and daughters Olivia and Madison. As a member of the Board, Andy has volunteered for several committees and consistently shown his commitment to The Symphony and to Venice. We are also very grateful to David Joyner, our outgoing Chair, who led our organization from the most challenging time in our history to last year’s sold-out season.” Joyner will continue to serve on the Symphony Board and is the Chair Elect of the Venice Area Chamber of Commerce.

Said Leisenring, “It is truly an honor to have been selected to serve as the Chair of the Board of Trustees. We have an amazing team of Board members that ensures the Venice Symphony is not only successful today but will be successful long into the future. Our community is very fortunate to have such high-quality musicians, a world class Music Director/Conductor, amazing staff members, and outstanding volunteers that work tirelessly to make every concert a first-class experience and there are amazing things to come!”

The 2022-23 members of The Venice Symphony Board of Trustees are Andy Leisenring (chair), Paul McCullough (vice-chair), Penny Corell (Secretary), Casey Riley (treasurer), Bob Bartholomew, Maureen Bentley, David Chivas, John Fischer, Tom Fitch, Barbara Freeman, Bob Hite, Barbara Jackson, David Joyner, Steven Ledbetter, Denise Mattmuller and Brad Speckerman.
