The Venice Symphony Welcomes Two New Trustees

“Venice, FL – September 10, 2021 – The Venice Symphony is pleased to announce that Barbara Jackson and Paul McCullough have joined The Symphony’s Board of Trustees.
“We are honored and fortunate that Paul McCullough is returning to the Board after years of Board service and extraordinary leadership,” said Christine Kasten, President and CEO of The Venice Symphony. “His guidance as an advisor and Emeritus Trustee has been invaluable and we are thrilled to have him back as a trustee.”

Kasten added, “Barbara Jackson is new to Venice and we are grateful to our former Board Chair Debbi Benedict for introducing her to The Symphony. Barbara is a dynamic and enthusiastic leader and she is the ideal trustee to chair our first Symphony Ball, taking place in March.”
Barbara Jackson is Senior Vice President at TRUIST Bank (formerly BB&T). She moved to Venice from Annapolis, MD in the Spring of 2020. In Maryland, she served on the Boards of the American Heart Association (AHA), Chesapeake Conservancy, Annapolis Symphony Orchestra, Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts and was involved in the Rotary Club of Annapolis. Ms. Jackson chaired the largest fundraiser for Maryland Hall for four years, and served as Board Chair from July 2019 to June 2021.

Ms. Jackson formed a Women’s Networking Group in Annapolis focused on successful business owners and “C-Suite” women, and introduced a scholarship fund at a community college. Said Jackson, “I have a lifelong passion for the arts and understand the importance of arts in a community. While relatively new to Venice, I was immediately impressed by The Venice Symphony’s reputation and their team. Maestro Troy Quinn is dynamic, engaging and respected. Our community is fortunate to have him leading our symphony.”

Paul McCullough was born in Connecticut and lived there until he and his wife Lynette Edmonds moved to Venice in 2007. They now live in Sarasota. Mr. McCullough is a Connecticut attorney specializing in real estate and litigation and is additionally a Realtor in Florida. He is also a past president and current Member of the Board of Directors of the Venice Art Center. Mr. McCullough is an avid golfer and enjoys traveling, visual arts, and of course, music. Said McCullough, “”It is a great honor to again be a member of the invaluable team which is guiding the Venice Symphony Orchestra towards the future, fulfilling our mission of providing the highest level of exceptional musical experiences to the community.””
